With the CUPRA Born UK release right around the corner, anticipation and expectations are both quite rightly high for the brand’s first all-electric vehicle. For a vehicle crafted with such a clear focus on performance and dynamics, it comes as no surprise that Bridgestone has been selected as the car’s tyre partner.
Featuring all-new ultra-low rolling resistance tyres, the CUPRA Born’s tyres feature Bridgestone’s ENLITEN Technology. This will push the car that extra mile with every charge. With rolling resistance reduced by up to 30% as well as weight reduced by up to 20%, the car is set to reach a range of up to 548km between charges. This massively reduces environmental impact and puts efficiency front and centre. Furthermore, the bespoke tyres were developed with Bridgestone’s very own Virtual Tyre Development technology. Owing to this, a lower number of prototype tyres were required and they could be to market up to 50% quicker. This alone strikes the tyres’ raw material consumption and CO2 emissions all the way down by approximately 60%, further strengthening the CUPRA Born as a champion of environmental sustainability.

With the choice between a summer tyre, a winter tyre as well as an all-season tyre, Bridgestone have put consumers in the driver’s seat. Whether choosing the summertime Bridgestone Turanza ECO tyres, the Bridgestone Blizzak tyres winter tyres, or the Bridgestone Weather Control all-season tyres, CUPRA Born drivers are guaranteed flexibility and optimal performance no matter the environment.
In addition to this the tyres also come equipped with Bridgestone’s B-seal solution. This is an automatic sealant technology designed to prevent nails, stones or other objects piercing the tyre while also maintaining air pressure.
Bridgestone sees this partnership as a huge win for sustainable mobility. Similarly it is the perfect opportunity to reduce CO2 emissions while offering a quality range of products to consumers. This serves as an extension of the Bridgestone ethos which is “Serving Society with Superior Quality”.
